States with the highest and lowest numbers of alcohol related crashes


2008-2009 State alcohol related crash stats

Notice the 3 states with the highest number of alcohol related fatal crashes, California, Texas and Florida, don't have the highest percentages of the same crashes. (They are just the most populated states)

In 2009 they were still the top ranking states for alcohol related crashes, but the numbers did go down.

All but one of the states with the highest percentage of alcohol related fatal crashes had less than 100 crashes.

Hawaii is the only state in this list that still had a highest percentage ranking for 2009.

Rhode Island is the only state that lost it's lowest number ranking for alcohol related fatal crashes (replaced by New Hamshire).

Although Vermont went up in numbers in 2009, it still has some of the lowest numbers for these crashes
